BIke Powered Sound System
We have developed a Bike powered sound system which we have been touring the festivals with. So far we have taken it to The Moor Music Festival at which it got a good review from Joel James. Solway Festival (Solfest), Eden Festival, and have some more gigs at local environment centres. We all had a good time and really identified with the ethos of the festival in general. Some of the bands which we collaborated with include Xpress2, Misty in Roots, and the Dub Pistols. The organizers were happy with the visuals and they spoke of a repeat booking for next year. We have been designing a front loaded bass reflex horn for a 12v battery powered sound system. Which will eventually be mounted onto a trailer for the back of a bike! The main consideration for the design of this system is efficiency, being of major concern when using batterys, which is why we spent a year learning how to model horns. The horn is tuned to play down to around 50hz and does so quite nicely. Unfortunately to make it play any lower would need much more power so this is the compromize.
